This is the year we love to forget: 2020!

In Kentville, it was like the rest of the world - filled with the uncertainty of what a global pandemic would mean. 

But from a climate perspective, the year had a total of 1047.6mm of precipitation. The month with the most stuff falling from the sky was December, when 161.8mm fell. The day with the most precipitation (most likely rainfall) was on September 22 with 70.9mm.

The coldest month in 2020 was February at -7.4C. February 15th was the coldest day of the year, with temperatures dropping to -21.9.

The warmest temperatures were spread out a bit more. The hottest month was August, at 26.1ºC on average, while the hottest day fell on June 19th, with a daily high of 33.1!! 

In addition to precipitation and temperature, the Atlantic had 51 named storms. This includes 30 tropical storms, 14 hurricanes, and 7 major hurricanes. And of all these storms, only tropical storm Teddy found its way to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.

Overall, the average temperature works out to be 8.4ºC, which is represented by the colour fern!
